LIVING TOO FAST
An engineer just home in London from New York puts into a few words his protest against one aspect of the Speed Age. “New York,” he says, you can keep it! Rush and tear, the survival of the fittest and slickest; and that goes for the women and children as well. The small things of life are overlooked: no Please or Thank you; you or even Sir whether by a barber thanking a patron or a bell-boy addressing his employer.”
