(Received May 30, at 5.5 p.m.) The insurgent forces on the Teruel front advanced two and a-half miles. Eight insurgent planes dropped two lots of bombs in an early morning raid on Barcelona. They were driven off by anti-aircraft batteries. The casualties are not known. Dr Negrin has taken a step nearer general mobilisation, as desired by most organisations, by calling up able-bodied men between the ages of 32 and 33. ITALIAN FRIENDSHIP "DAY OF SOLIDARITY* * MESSAGE SENT TO GENERAL FRANCO ROME, May 29. A “ day of ceremonies illustrating solidarity with Nationalist Spain ” was celebrated throughout Italy. Speeches were made in praise of Italian and Spanish friendship. Signor Mussolini sent a message to General Franco emphasising Italian affection for Spanish Nationalists, who “ are victoriously reaffirming their historic mission.”
