SOCIALISM

TO THE EDITOR

Sir, —Will you please inform me what is the difference between a member of a Socialist society and a member of the Fabian Society? In a young man’s magazine which I used to get I read a report of a lecture which Mr Bernard Shaw gave before members of the Fa.bian Society, in which he said that a *Fabian was a Socialist who was not a Socialist.—l am. etc., Osman. Dunedin. May 19. [There are scores of definitions of Socialism, some of which would include Fabians as Socialists. —Ed., O.D.T.]
