BELLEKNOWES CLUB The first qualifying rounds of the Club and Junior Championships were played at Belleknowes on Saturday afternoon under ideal conditions, and in consequence some good scores were returned. The handicap event, played concurrently, resulted in a win for W. K. Wilkinson with a net 57. P. A. Joblin being second with a 58. The best cards were those of:— W. K. Wilkinson 76—19—57, P. A. Joblin 78—20—-58, R. M. Wilkinson 72—13—59. A. Hindle 76—17—59, L. Bennet 77—18—59. W. Anderson 81 —22—59, A. Darling 66—6—60, F. Haigh 75—15—60, G. Bell 75—15 —6O, F. Sharpe 80—20—60, E. Lucas 71—io —61, R. Jones 77—16 —61, O. Cooke 80—19—61. The best gross score was handed in by A. Darling with a 66. MACANDREW BAY CLUB Members of the Macandrew Bay Golf Club took part in a Medal Match on Saturday. The course was in good condition, and some excellent scores were recorded, the most notable being a gross 36 for the nine holes by A. C. Penny. The best cards were as follows;—A. C. Penny 36—10—26, H. Bevin 40—10 —3O, J. Hurrell 43—12—31, D. J. Simpson 439 —34. As bogey for the course is 34, it is probable that some reductions in handicaps will be made by the committee.

TAIERI CLUB A Mixed Canadian Foursome was played on the Taieri links on Saturday afternoon, the best cards being handed in by Mr and Mrs R. L. Jones, 2 down; Goughian and Mrs Breeze, 4 down; and Cooke and Mrs Blair and Lake and Miss Nicol, 5 down.
