STATION MANAGER’S DEATH INJURED IN ACCIDENT Sinclair Andrews, aged 78 years, the manager of the Kyeburn sheep station, died in Prospect House, Dunedin, on Saturday morning as the result of injuries received when his car left the road while he was travelling over the Pigroot on May 6. The deceased was proceeding from Kyeburn to Shag Valley station when he met another vehicle and, while he was passing it. his own car skidded in the gravel and capsized down a bank, the deceased suffering severe spinal injuries. He was at once conveyed to Prospect House, but his condition became worse, and he died at 6 a.m. on Saturday. An inquest was held at Prospect House on Saturday afternoon before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.. Sergeant Cooper conducting the inquiry. After evidence had been given by Dr F. S. Batchelor, the coroner returned a verdict that the deceased died on May 14 as the result of injuries received when his car capsized down a bank on the Pigroot on May 6. A LACERATED LEG Robert Jones, a young boy, living at 29 Valpy street, fell and lacerated his right leg while playing on the Harbour Board punt at the Birch street wharf on Saturday. He was admitted to the Hospital at 4.30 p.m. A FRACTURED ANKLE Olive Nelson, a young girl, living at 20 Arden street, fractured her right ankle while playing basketball at Logan Park on Saturday, and was admitted to the Hospital at 5.45 p.m. FOOTBALLERS INJURED Robin Woolford, a young man, living at 327 Main South road, was admitted to the Hospital at 4 p.m. on Saturday suffering from concussion received while he was playing football for the Dunedin Club's Fourth Grade team against Pirates. Another footballer, George Wilson, living at 25 Harrington street, Port Chalmers, was admitted at 5 p.m., also suffering from concussion received while he was playing in the Fourth Grade Port Chalmers team against Green Island. ELDERLY MAN’S FALL DEATH FROM FRACTURED SKULL (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 15. As the result of a fall in the city on Saturday night, Alexander James Baron, aged 69 years, of Point Chevalier, fractured his skull. His death 1 occurred to-day in hospital.
