REVENUE AND TRADE

EXPANSION IN NEWFOUNDLAND REPORT OF COMMISSION (British Official Wireless! (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) RUGBY, May 14. (Received May 15, at 5.5 p.m.) An expansion of Newfoundland’s revenue, foreign trade, and fishing industry is recorded in the report of the Commission of Government for 1937. The total value of the minerals exported was recorded at over 8,000,000 dollars, mainly due to the increased output of iron ore. The progress of agricultural development was encouraging, and fisheries show signs of improvement. The report also included an account of the substantial progress made in the construction of an Atlantic air service base at Hattie’s Camp.
