Among those noticed were the president’s wife. Mrs B. S. Irwin, and Miss Irwin, the Mayoress, Mrs A. H. Allen, and Mesdames H. H. Doble, H. Barron. Charles Greenslade, J. Johnson, Kenneth Ross, Guy Williams, W. F. Forrester, Richard Hill, J. Hamer, Lilian Williams, John Ellison. Norman Buchanan, W. A. Dawson and H. A. Gamble, and Misses Lorraine Barton. Joyce McCroell (Invercargill), Beth Hoyles (Invercargill), F. Douglas (Karitane) and Betty Ross.
