THE NATIONAL COUNCIL •' FIRST MEETING ON MAY 24 " (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 12. The first meeting of the National! Council appointed under the Phy: sical Welfare and Recreation Act will be held in Parliament House on May 24. The Minister of Internal Affairs' (Mr W. E. Parry) said to-day that f one of the first undertakings of the;; council would be a thorough survey, of the existing facilities for sport, and recreation and the requirements necessary. He felt that with the spirit and keenness permeating the council’s personnel there would be no delay in reaching that stage of' their functions. APPROVAL OF PROPOSALS TECHNICAL SCHOOL TEACHERS,; (Per United Press Association) is WELLINGTON, May 12. The conference of technical school teachers carried a remit to-day ap-r proving of the Government's proposals for the improvement of physical education and expressing a wish to submit recommendations for better physical training previsions in secondary and technical schools.
