THE LEAGUE COUNCIL
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES SWITZERLAND’S NEUTRALITY GENEVA, May 10. The report of the Economic Committee of the League is not yet completed, but it suggests more frequent meetings of the present committees and closer contact between all States collaborating with the League. M. Motta, at a public meeting of the Council, declared that Switzerland was no longer content with her form of neutrality, which exposed her to all dangers. Two of the three of Switzerland’s great neighbours had left the League. Switzerland would be compelled to withdraw her position of age-old neutrality. M. Litvinoff doubted the competence of the Council to decide the question, and a rapporteur was appointed to consider the matter Mr Jordan presented the report of the Health Committee.
Drawing attention *o the League’s work in connection nth the antiepidemic campaign in China, he pointed out its importance for Powers having Far Eastern interests. He announced that the Netherlands and Dutch East Indies Governments had opened credits to help the work. He hoped that other Governments would act similarly, as resources were limited.
, Dr Wellington Koo, thanking the League, said that the anti-epidemic mobile units were carrying op the work under dangerous conditions, owing to the Japanese air raids.
