MEEHAN v. KENNEDY The performance of Pat Meehan, the Canadian wrestler, when he held “ Lofty ” Blomfieid to a draw in his first bout in the Dunedin ring, was - one of the finest seen in this city for some time. Meehan winning
admiration for the manner in which he resisted Blomfield’s attempts at the last minute to apply his octopus clamp. Kennedy is said .to be a wrestler with a personality that draws big crowds to see his matches. He can keep moving at a fast pace using a variety of spectacular moves, and Meehan should encounter opposition fully up to that which he met from Blomfield. , The combination of his physical assets and the lessons he had from “ Farmer ” Burns has enabled him to build up an excellent record in the professional ranks, his victims including some of the best-known wrestlers in the world. His wrestling is always aggressive, his flying tackles and droplocks never failing to provide thrills for the spectators and trouble for his opponent. Further particulars are advertised.
