COST OF MECHANISATION SPECIAL GRANT PROBABLE (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Nov. 17. The Government has decided to recommend Parliament to make a special grant of £600,000 to the Government of India for another three years from April next to facilitate the carrying out of measures for the mechanisation of the army in India. This decision had been reached, it was stated in the House of Commons at question time, after discussion with the Government of India in view of the magnitude of the initial expenditure involved.
