LINER QUEEN MARY
DOCKED FOR HULL SCRAPING CHARGES EXCEED £21,000 LONDON, Nov. 18. (Received Nov. 18, at 11.55 p.m.) The Daily Telegraph says the liner Queen Mary will dock by December 20 for a six weeks’ overhaul. The docking charges alone will exceed £21.000. No important changes will be made in the structure or the machinery, but the hull will be scrapeed and re-coated with an anti-fouling composition. At present the hull is thickly coated with preservative paint, a factor which reduces her speed. Its removal may improve her performance.
