TRACK WORK AT INVERCARGILL

SAILING LADY IN FORM (Per United Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Nov. 18. The weather was threatening at an early hour, but after a light shower there was a gradual improvement and training was carried out under perfect conditions. All fast work was done on the course proper, about 30ft out from the rails, and the going was fast, the recent rain having hardly any effect.

Sailing Lady was responsible for the best six furlongs of the morning, when she ran the distance in Imin 18 l-ssec. She was assisted over the last five by her younger sister. Sea Lady and ran the last half-mile in 52sec, finishing strongly. Sea Lady was giving away over two stone, and it was a good effort on her part.

Milford and Burwood ran a mile in Imin 47sec, the last half in 53 l-ssec Milford, who looks well, was running on nicely, and it was a good gallop fo. Burwood.

Britomartis beat Foxglove and Cox comb easily over half a mile in 52sec Britomartis can go fast for five furlongs, and she bowled into her work in fine style. Ardchoille lookin none the worse for his trip to Riccarton ran five furlongs in Imin 5 2-ssec. Bonazel and Ocean Singer were together throughout a mile in Imin 51sec, the last four in 54sec.

Western Song ran six furlongs in Imin 20sec. the last four ii 54 2-ssec He pulled up very lame in the near front leg. Pharaoh ran half a mile in 52 4-ssec and Aspire and Bilbao sprinted three, furlongs in 40 2-ssec. The safety number at the six furlongs barrier is 19, and as 21 have accepted for the Trial Handicap, a division may be necessary. Waitoru will be missing, as he is troubled with shin soreness.
