DEVELOPMENT IN MANCHUKUO A HUGE HOLDING COMPANY TOKIO, Nov. 15. The Domei Agency reports that Mr Gisuke Ayukawa, president of the Japan Industrial Company, controlling the development of Manchukuo's heavy industries, has brought from there plans for a huge holding company which will have a capital of £175,000,000. A third will be advanced by Japan and a third by an American syndicate, including a " certain financial organisation," also the Standard Oil Company, Ford Motors, and General Motors. The sum of £60,000,000 will be devoted to the iron industries, a similar sum to aircraft and motor industries, and £30,000,000 to light metals.
