"LET'S GO PLACES"
THE MONTAGUE SHOW Fast-moving throughout and containing an abundance of refreshing comedy, the Montague Show revue " Let's Go Places " met with another enthusiastic reception from last night's large audience in His Majesty's Theatre. Variety is the keynote of the performance, and an added feature for several items is the spectacular and lavish staging At the head of a small band of comedians Mr George Doonan is always entertaining his unlimited supply of quips and sallies keeping the audience in a gleeful state of anticipation. The comedian receives excellent support from Messrs Jimmy Jewell and Ben Wariss Some exceedingly clever dancers, including Miss Alma Mackie, who is no stranger to Dunedin, make a pleasing contribution to the diversified fare, and the vocal items rendered by Miss Catherine Stewart and Miss Margaret Kelly are of a high standard A male quartet—the Blenders, an appropriatelylabelled combination —adds further interest with their pleasing songs. Not the least important in the show are the members of the ballet, who. attired in a number of beautiful and striking costumes, carry out their work with precision and grace. The production is in the hands of Mr Lewis Mark, and Mr Cyril Connolly has control of the orchestra, which plays an important part in the success of the entertainment.
