NEW FIGHTING AIRCRAFT

BAFFIN MACHINES ON ORDER TWELVE FOR WELLINGTON SQUADRON (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Oct. 27. The first consignment of four Baffin aircraft for the Wellington squadron of the Territorial Air Force is expected to arrive from England early in December, according to advice received by the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones) from the High Commissioner in London (Mr W. J. Jordan). Altogether 12 machines of this type have been ordered by the Government for the equipment of the squadron. "The new aircraft have done very little flying," Mr Jones said. " and are reported to be in excellent condition. They are very similar in performance to the Vildebeest bombers at present in the Dominion and are fully equipped for service duties and reconnaissance over the sea."
