Groups of interested spectator? watched the efforts of an Orakei resic dent to teach his horse to swim on* morning last week (says the New Zea land Herald). The animal, which wat attached by a.long rope to the sterr of a dinghy rowed by the owner, mann. fested much reluctance, but, urgec from the rear by small missiles throws by some of the watchers, it was at lass induced to strike out to sea in businesslike fashion.
