With a continuation of the long spell of dry weather, which is exceptional for October, the forestry authorities in the Rotorua district are having an anxious time owing to the prevalence of bush fires in close proximity to thickly-planted areas of forestry reserve. Following the fairly extensive fire at Okareka, which for a time threatened some of the best scenic bush in the district, another fire broke put recently on Native land at Wharepaina on the Rotorua-Taupo road, about 60 miles from Rotorua. It's penny wist and pounds foolish to use inferior coal—insist on Kaitangata. -Advt.
