RESCUED FROM CLIFFS

A HONEYMOON COUPLE YACHT CAUGHT IN GALE LONDON, Oct. 26. (Received Oct. 27, at 10 p.m.) When a gale imperilled a honeymoon yacht from Torr Head, off County Antrim, an Estonian, Mrs Silvia Loo, burned her trousseau as a distress signal. Lightning revealed the couple clinging to the mast of the vessel, which was sinking at the foot of ugly cliffs. The Portrush lifeboat put off but experienced engine trouble. Finally the coastguards, with a rocket apparatus and a lifeline, rescued the couple from the cliffs.
