DANCE AT TOWN HALL

FAMOUS BAND TO APPEAR The name of Theo Walters and his Personality Band is already very well known in Dunedin, and it is possible that after Monday night next it will be more widely known. At exceptionally heavy cost the management of the Town Hall Dance has secured the services of this famous band for its big carnival dance on Monday night, and patrons may confidently expect to be provided with the very best of music As this will be the only appearance of this band at a dance in the South Island, patrons are assured of something new, for in Australia Theo Walters and his band are regarded as one of the finest combinations ever heard in a dance hall. Mr Jack M'Caw and his music will be in attendance as usual, and the preparations being made by the management indicate that Monday night will be one of the gayest and brightest evenings that Dunedin dancers have experienced for a long time. A slight increase will be made in the price of admission, but the gallery will be open to spectators at the usual charge. The weekly dance to-night will provide for patrons another contest in the search for the Otago finalists for the New Zealand Dancing Championship. Interest is rising is the date of the final approaches. To-night will see the second semi-final, and again members of the public, through their voting 1 cards, will decide who will be the finalists. Mr Jack McCaw and his New Mayfair Band will provide their " sweet-swing " music, assisted by Mr James McFarlane, who will render the song-hits of the day. The circle has, as usual, been reserved for spectators, who are attending in large numbers owing to the interest being taken In the Dancing Championship. The right of admission 1b strictly reserved.
