SUNDAY SERVICES

The Rev. D. C. Herron, M.A.. will conduct both services in Knox Church to-morrow. In the evening he will speak on " Seeing Only What is Near," and Misses Thomson and Clark will sing the duet " He Wipes the Tear from Every Eye." The Rev. W. Allen Stevely will conduct the services in First Church. His subject in the morning will be "The Challenge of Christ," and in the evening " Mesianic Life." The music at the evening service will include the tenor solo "O Lord Most Holy," and the anthem "Gracious Lord of All Our Being." Dr V. E. Galway will be the organist. The Rev. J. Ewen Simpson will conduct the services at the Hanover Street Baptist Church. The morning service will be a memorial to Mrs G. Hercus. In the evening the subject will be, "What Must I Do to be Saved?" In the evening the choir will present the hymn study. "Now the Day is Over" and the anthem, "Open the Gates of the Temple." A solo will be sung by Mr J. Swan. The Rev. Thoma 9 Miller will be the preacher at St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, his subject at the morning Bervice being "How the Christian Enriches Others," and his subject at the ensuing service "A Great Way Off His Father Saw Him." The Rev. L. B. Neale will conduct the morning service in the Methodist Central Mission, Octagon Hall, to-mor-row. In the evening, at 6.30, the Rev. Belshazzar Gina, of the Solomon Islands, will be the preacher. There will also be an after-church rally in the Octagon Hall at 8 o'clock. The Greater World Spiritual Mission this week will celebrate its second anniversary. Special services will be conducted by the Rev. G. Brooks, her subject being "Psychic Visions and Experiences." Clairvoyance will follow. _ The Rev. C. S. Hedley Bycroft will conduct to-morrow's services at the United Congregational Church. Albany street. "The Broad River" will be the morning topic, and in the evening ."God's Banquet." "Jesus and the Working Man ' will be the theme of the Rev. C. H. Olds's sermon at Trinity Methodist Church to-morrow evening. The anthem will be "The Lord is My Strength." In the morning Mr Olds will preach on "Temples of the Holy Spirit." Missioner D. I. Robertson will preach at Woodhaugh in the morning and Glenavon in the evening. Mr L. Cook will speak at Glenavon in the morning. Special preparatory services commemorating the formation of the Congregational Church. Moray place, on October 24, 1862, will be held to-mor-row, both services being conducted by the Rev. Albert Mead, M.A. The directors of the Caledonian Society of Otago have accepted an invitation to attend the evening service as part of the society's anniversary celebrations. and members are asked to attend. In the morning the sermon subject will be "Our Goodly Heritage." and in the evening. " 1862—1937: Then and Now." A solo, "Keep Thou My Heart." will be sung by Mr Graham McKinlay. and the choir anthem will be " Great is the Lord." At the Theosophical Society Mr J. M. M'Ewan will conclude his series of talks on the " Lav/ of Rebirth " by an address on "The Mechanics of Reincarnation."

Mr J. M. McEwan will be the speaker at the Spiritualist Church, Radiant Hall, at 6.30 p.m. Members are reminded that the annual meeting will be held after the service on October 31. Owing to the holiday on Monday the Healing Centre will not meet. The services at the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. A. C. W. Standage, the subjects being "Work Rest and Reward" and "The World's Debt to Christianity." In connection with the South Island Band and Songster Conference which the Salvation Army is holding in Dunedin. special services are to be held in all Army halls in greater Dunedin to-morrow at 7 p.m. At the Dowling Street Fortress, Lieutenant Commissioner and Mrs Adams, the

leaders of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, will be in command, and will be assisted by Lieutenant-colonels Scotney and Church and the divisional staff. The Christchurch Band and the Dunedin Band and Songsters will take part. At the South Dunedin Army Hall, the Invercargill Band and Songsters will take a prominent part, and the meeting will be conducted by Adjutant Chandler, of Christchurch.' At the North Dunedin Salvation Army Hall the meeting will be conducted by Major Parkinson, of Invercargill, and the Ashburton Band wilf play special music. At Roslyn Salvation Army Hall the Waimate Band and Songsters will render special items, and Captain Stone, of Waimate, will take charge of the meeting. A special united musical meeting will be held in the Dowling Street Salvation Army Citadel at 2.45 p.m.
