INCREASE IN BRITAIN THE FIGURES FOR SEPTEMBER LONDON, Oct. 12. (Received Oct. 12, at 8 p.m.) Road deaths in Britain during September totalled 583, an increase of 16 compared with las( September. The totals for 1937 were: Dead 4821, and injured 170,397. Fatalities on speed-limit roads were more than three times greater than on roads where there is no speed limit. UNIQUE FORM OF PROTEST LIVING BARRIER ON ROAD LONDON, Oct. 12. (Received Oct. 12, at 5.5 p.m.) As a protest against the lack of safety traffic signals, mothers and children formed a living barrier across the roadway at North Kensington, forcing traffic to stop.
