THE TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
ro THE EDITOR Sir,—As a motorist who drives along Cumberland street every morning just prior to 8 o’clock, I wish, on behalf of several fellow motorists, to raise an objection to the way in which cyclists neglect all the rules and regulations of our highways. Every morning to drive along Cumberland street from Anderson’s Bay road means a nightmare trip to all motorists, and it is inevitable that a serious accident will occur unless measures are taken by the council to stop cyclists from riding four and five abreast, turning between intersections, and omitting in every respect to carry out the regulations bo commonly known to all except cyclists. I often drive along the same route about ll a.m. each day, and see a solitary traffic inspector patrolling this now deserted thoroughfare. Why not have the inspectors rise a little earlier in the morning in order to patrol Cumberland street prior to 8 o’clock? Not ifre traffic inspector is required, but four or more. ■ They will have the busiest hour they have ever had. —I am, etc.. Dissatisfied Motorist.
