THREAT OF FLOODS
COASTAL AREAS IN NEW SOUTH WALES TORRENTIAL FALL OF RAIN SYDNEY, June 21. Coastal areas in New South Wales are threatened with heavy floods as the result of the torrential rain during the week-end. The ram is continuing. Considerable damage to buildings occurred from a southeasterly gale of a velocity of 60 miles an hour. The gale disorganised shipping. Mountainous seas are. delaying all overseas vessels. The three-year drought in the metropolitan catchment area has been completely banished, ensuring at least two years' full supply in the reservoirs. DANGER PASSED SHIPPING BACK TO NORMAL SYDNEY, June 22. (Received June 22, at 7.40 p.m.) The stormy weather has passed, and all danger of floodings has endt-d. Shipping movements are back to normal.
