Parry) on the occasion of his conference with sports bodies which was called to discuss the suggestion to establish a sports council. As soon as these come to hand copies will be sent to you, and you are asked to consider the matter carefully and to let us have your views as early as possible, and in any case before July 9. When submitting your views will you also be good enough to advise the number of players, including school teams, under the jurisdiction of your union? We need this information when next meeting the Government in connection with their proposals.” The chairman said that it was evidently the wish of the Government to have a sports council in New Zealand to control all sports activities, and before that council was formed the New Zealand Rugby Union desired certain information in the interests of football, from its various affiliated unions.
