NEW BRITISH TAX
REACTION IN SECURITIES A SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT LITTLE CRITICISM OF IMPOST (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, June 17. The City’s response to the new tax has been a small all-round improvement in securities. The only criticism the financial editor of the Australian Associated Press heard in the City or the House of Commons was directed to the fact that the tax falls exclusively on ordinary shareholders, and' leaves preference and debenture-holders and other classes who have derived some benefit from the Government expenditure, untouched.
