PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT APPORTIONMENT OF COST The cost of the work of improving and sealing the road to the Taieri aerodrome via the Black Bridge will be £12,000. Of this sum £9OOO is to be provided by the Main Highways Board, £2250 by the City Council, and £750 by the Taieri County Council. These figures are contained in the report ot the Finance Committee to be presented to the meeting of the City Council on Monday night. “ Consideration has been given to a reference from the Public Works Committee proposing that a contribution of £2250 be made by the City Council towards the cost of improving and sealing the surface of the roadway to the city airport, known as the Dunedin-Duke’s road main highway,” the report states. “The Highways Board has offered to undertake the work at an estimated cost of £12,000, of which £9OOO will be provided by the board, leaving £3OOO to be found by the local bodies concerned —i.e.. the City Council and the Taieri County Council. At a conference with representatives of the Taieri County Council the county representatives agreed that the county should find £750. leaving the city’s share at £2250
