A newly-wed couple of Munich purchased 18 different bedroom suites, and they are now spending their nights in the local prison for attempting to exploit Hitler’s “ aid to newly-weds.’ The German Government gives special coupons to young married couples to enable them to purchase furniture on the hire-purchase plan for a few shillings cash. This couple bought 17 more bedroom suites than they needed with the marriage loan coupons, and sold them immediately, realising 50,000 marks (about £4000) before they were caught.
