AN UNPLEASANT PRACTICE
TO THE EDITOR Sir, —If my memory is correct, Mr G. L. Denniston, when he was Mayor, led a crusade against the unnecessary and nauseating habit of spitting on the footpaths, and a by-law was passed making this habit an offence. This created a great improvement, and the time seems to have arrived when action should be taken on this by-law. —I am, etc., S. Kilda.
