THE HUNTER ESTATE
ALLEGED MISMANAGEMENT REMOVAL OF TRUSTEES SOUGHT (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 17. Gross mismanagement of 'the estate of the late Sir George Hunter was in the Supreme Court to-day by the widow, Edith May Hunter, against the trustees, Cyril Paul Hunter and Thomas Percy Hunter, nephews of the deceasedf The plaintiff is seeking their removal from the trusteeship because of her allegations, which are denied by them. Several grounds of action are set out, and the case is expected to last a-fortnight. The first witness, Oscar Monrad, a farmer, land valuer and supervisor, of Palmerston North, said that he had inspected the Porangahau Estate. He formed the opinion that there were too many leakages and too much loss. He was not at all satisfied with the management. Having regard to the number of hands employed, the results were nothing like what one might reasonably expect from an efficient station. The court was adjourned until to-morrow.
