SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS FIRST EVENT COMPLETED (Per United Press Association) • BLENHEIM. June 17. Alter two days and a-half the first event of the South Island Collie Dog Trials was completed early this afternoon. A total of 84 dogs competed. The New Zealand Championship will follow the completion of the South Island events. The results the South Island Championship for heading, bringing back and holding in the ring were as follows, the total points being 60:— R .) Widen'? Bet (Dannevirke) 574 1 w Whvte's Boy (Napier). 57 .. .. 2 R ML Wilson's Fly (Kirwee), 55 .. 3 G M'Millan's Stan (Waipawa), 54* 4 E Rutherford's Speed (Waikari) 54 5 J. Mead's Bill Bailey (Nelson), 53J. 6 M A. Mathieson's Scot (Middlemarch) 52$ 7 These dogs qualify for the New Zealand Championship.
