WAITAKI OLD BOYS

ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT The Dunedin branch of the Waitaki High School Old Boys' Association held its annual smoke concert in the Otago Rowing Club's social hall on Tuesday night, when the president (Mr A. B. Armour) was in the chair. Mr Armour welcomed the members and visitors, and expressed satisfaction at the number of country members present. Songs were rendered during the evening by Messrs Arthur Macdonald, R. Maloney, and R. Duerdon, accompanied on the piano by Mr F. Evans, who also played several solos. Mr S. D. Smith gave an impersonation of "Mr Bligh, the Lecturer," and Mr L. S. Clark gave a monologue, " The Third Degree." The following toast list was gone through:—" The School," Mr G. W. Ferens—Mr E. M. Lake; "Old Boys' Association Parent Body," Mr L. D. Hudson—Mr S. D. Smith; "Kindred Associations and Visitors." Messrs F. E. Clapperton and W. Statham—Mr Barnett (M'Glashan), Mr W. V. Fountain (0.8.H.5.), Mr Finch (Scots College), Mr M'Avoy; " Visiting Old Boys. Mr J. E. Matheson—Mr M. R. Smith
