CHILDREN AT PICTURE THEATRES
ro THE EDITOR Sir,—Let me say a word in defence of the children who attend picture entertainments. I was at the pictures on Saturday afternoon, and the children certainly did make a noise, but I consider it is the pictures not so much the children that are to blame. The pictures are most disappointing. “ Terry Toons," or whatever it is called, is enough to give the children nightmare for a week. The pictures must be harmful for children. I myself go very seldom, and I like the pictures less and less every time I go. When you meet these same children in the street or see them in church—l saw a few of them in the Central Mission last night—their conduct leaves nothing to be desired. Therefore I say it is the pictures that are at fault, not the children. If the children were shown educational pictures I am sure they would benefit and their conduct would not call for rebuke—l am, etc., May 31. Children’s Friend.
