KING GEORGE MEMORIAL FUND
A NOTABLE INCREASE ' NO PERSONAL CANVASS The Dunedin Propaganda Committee of the King George V Memorial Fund—the Mayor and Messrs M. S. Myers and N. R, Wilson—has issued the following statement:— The increase of £425 on Monday brings Dunedin's total contributions to the King George V Memorial Fund to £4550, This was a very gratifying addition. The figures for the four centres now are;— Auckland £17,212 Wellington .. .. 9,452 Christchurch .. 5,472 Dunedin 4,550 At the inception of the fund the Dunedin Committee decided that as the fund was taking the form of a memorial to an honoured Sovereign it would not be dignified to make a personal canvass. The committee therefore appeals to citizens to come forward and supplement the fund by their own voluntary gifts. If anyone is too busy to call, he is asked to ring up the Mayor’s office and notify the amount it is desired to subscribe. LIST OF DONATIONS-

RESPONSE IN CHRISTCHURCH CONTRIBUTIONS .NOW TOTAL £5616 (Per United Press Association) ... CHRISTCHURCH, June V The contributions received by the city treasurer at Christchurch to the King George V Memorial Fund now total £5616. The appeal will officially end on Thursday, but it will be about a week after that before the amount collected ,in Christchurch will be ascertained, for many collection lists have yet to be received from the employees of business firms.
