BALL AT WAIPIATA
A successful and enjoyable ball arranged by the Wainiata Basketball Club was held on Friday evening. The hall was artistically decorated in the club colours. Excellent music was supplied by an orchestra. Mr R. Kean and Mr M’Lintock acted as M.C.’s. The lucky spot dance was won by Mrs I. Mathias and Mr C. Bulman and the Monte Carlo by Miss A. Roberts and Mr Mackay. Among those present were:—Mesdames K. Quinn, wearing black velvet; G. M’Cutchon, black and silver; I. Shaw, red tinsel crepe; G. Mathias, wine lace and georgette; W. Lane, wine diagonal; N. Howell, blue silk marocain; A. Murphy, green crepe de chine; M. Murphy, floral georgette; B. Herlihy, rose lace and silver; J. Keegan, Coronation blue and red; M. Herlihy, Marina blue georgette; D. Roberts, blue floral georgette: A. Thompson, pink suede crepe; M. Francis, black velvet; E. Sinclair, black satin; M. King, brown satin and gold; O. Bishop, rose pink crepe de chine; H. Dodd, green georgette; D. Hancock, pink floral; J. Smith, black velvet; E. Johnston, green chevron satin; F. Williamson, pink georgette; O.
