WELLINGTON BEATS TARANAKI ELEVEN POINTS TO NINE (Per United Press Association)' HAWERA, May 26. The Wellington Rugby .representatives defeated, Taranaki,; by.: M; t points to nine. Taranaki's weakness was in -the inside backs, who could not -Vet the ball to Sullivan and Smith often enough, Taranaki gave good service from the scrumi'but Andrews was round on Brown : before 1 the latter could get his pass away. .Le Quesne, Veitch ,and Sadler proved a thorn in the side of Taranaki, cutting through effectively l and handling cleanly in comparison with their opponents, whose passes were slovenly. Sullivan scored for Taranaki early in the second spell after Smith had made an opening and Warehani crossed at the corner snortly afterwards, but the try was disallowed. The executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union met to-night. It was decided to extend the date .for provisional nominations for the Interisland and New Zealand trial matches to June 15. The Otago University Football Club's request for a New Zealand University match with the Springboks, which was referred to the executive from the Minister, of Internal Affairs (Mr W. E.
