ARRESTED IN DANZIG
LEADER OF CENTRE PARTY PRELUDE TO DISSOLUTION (United Press Association) ißv Electric Telegraph Copyright) BERLIN, Feb. 7. (Received Feb. 8, at 5.5 p.m.) Political police arrested Dr Stachnik Leader of the Danzig Centre Party. The arrest is regarded as a prelude to dissolution of the party. Herr Forster, the district Nazi leader, asserted that they had practically finished the opposition parties. They had established good relations with Poland and would be cordial to the High Commissioner provided he did not interfere with the city’s internal politics.

The Daily Herald’s Warsaw correspondent says Dr Blavier, head of the Danzig Nationalist Party, will be certified as insane and put in an asylum on the pretext of a nervous breakdown. The Socialist leader, M. Brill, has already been imprisoned. NEW REIGN OF TERROR LONDON, Feb. 7. (Received Feb. 8, at 7 p.m.) Other sources announce a fresh reign of terror. The new Gestapo police have imprisoned over 50, chiefly Catholics. Other prisoners are being removed from gaols to concentration camps in order to make room for further persons who are expected to be arrested.
