INTOXICATED MOTORIST
FINE OF £ls IMPOSED LICENCE CANCELLED FOR THREE MONTHS (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 8. An intoxicated motorist, who, after falling over a stone wall into a paddock at Penrose on Saturday afternoon, divested himself of all his clothes except his shoes, socks and suspenders and was later arrested in his car wearing an overcoat, was dealt with by Mr W. R. M'Kean, S.M., in the Police Court this morning. The motorist was John Hallam Holloway, a farmer, aged 28, who pleaded guilty to being intoxicated in charge of a car. Counsel for the accused said that Holloway did not touch liquor as a rule. The reason why he had taken off his clothes was that he felt ill.
A fine of £ls was imposed, and the accused’s licence was cancelled for three months.
