CRASHED ON HILLSIDE

PLANE IN TASMANIA OCCUPANTS’ AMAZING ESCAPE HOBART, February 6. Buscombe and Gould were found alive and well beside the wrecked Hawker Demon plane in wild, hilly country near Waratah. The men had an amazing escape from death. The plane crashed or a hillside when the pilot was attempting to make a forced landing after the tip of one wing struck a tree in the fog. The machine turned upside down. Buscombe was trapped in the cockpit and escaped with minor injuries. Gould was saved by a rubber vest which he had inflated.
