EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS
THE MANILA GATHERING SPECIAL SERVICE FOR WOMEN MANILA, Feb. 4. (Received Feb. 4, at 11.35 p.m.) Thousands of Roman Catholic women from all parts of the world paid homage to Christ and the IJlessed Sacrament at the second day of the thirty-third International Eucharistic Congress. Before sunrise they gathered at a park on the shores of the bay and partook of holy communion. Pontifical Mass was celebrated by Bishop Paul Yupin, of Nanking. Predominant in the throng were Filipino women in native dresses, with black lace scarves on their heads.
The congress was opened yesterday, when an apostolic injunction was delivered to spur on missionary work in the Far East.
