ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
AMATEUR TEAM FOR DOMINION f STRONG'SIDE CHOSEN LONDON, Jan. 6. The International Selection Committee has chosen the following amateur Association footballers to tour New Zealand and Australia between April 17 and September 3:— Goal: L. T. Huddle (Casuals), A. H. Woolcock (Cambridge). Backs: G. G. Holmes (Ilford), G. A. Strasser (Corinthians), W. Pickering (Sheffield Wednesday). Half-backs: B. Joy (Casuals), J. W. Lewis (Walthamstow Avenue), T. H. Leek (Moor Green), J. Sutcliffe (Corinthians), E. Cunningham (Lloyd's Bank). Forwards: R. J. Matthews, ,E. C. CHlins, F. A. Davis (all Walthamstow Avenue), J. Sowerby (Ipswich Town), L. C. Thornton (Derbyshire Amateurs), F. Riley .Casuals), I. Gillespie (Harwick), Lance-corporal Eastham (Army). Messrs Wreford, Brown and Thome are the members in charge. The Daily Telegraph says the Association is represented by a very strong party, including nine internationals. A team picked from these 18 would be the best of any amateur combination in this country. It will prove a severe test for any opposition in Australia or New Zealand.
