BODY FOUND IN SURF EXTENSIVE INJURIES REVEALED (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 6. Recovered from the surf off Weymouth beach on Monday evening, the body of a boy named Clyde Neville Gillott, aged 13 years, was found to have a fracture at the base of the skull. There was also a deep gash across the eyes. The boy, a ward of the State, had been staying with his foster-mother, being on holiday from the Oamaru School for Backward Children. RIGHT ARM SEVERED (Per United Press Association! PALMERSTON N., Jan. 6. Slipping in an attempt to board the Limited express to-night, Peter Schmidt, aged 49, fell between two carriages. His right arm was severed and he suffered a severe scalp wound. He is believed to belong to Auckland. FIREMAN’S DEATH BODY RECOVERED FROM HARBOUR (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 6. The body of Edward M’Dermott, aged 33, a ship’s fireman, who lived at Wellington, was recovered from the harbour early this morning. It is understood that the deceased had been in ill-health for some time past. BODY FOUND IN HUT (Per United Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Jan. 6. The body of Patrick Russell, single, aged 60, was found in a hut in Devereaux road, near Winton. Russell, who lived by himself, had not been seen for two or three months, and it was thought that he had gone gold digging as he had been in the habit of doing.
