BOMBAY RIOTING
THE SITUATION WORSE BRITISH TROOPS CALLED OUT (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) BOMBAY, Oct. 18. The situation is worse. British troops were called out, and 16 motor lorries filled with detachments of the Durham Light Infantry are patrolling the disturbed area. Pitched battles and looting continued all day. Ten more persons were killed and many injured. Hundreds of hooligans were arrested. Lord Bradbourne, the Governor, has arrived from Poona. says tlje police now control the situation. LEADERS ANXIOUS FOR PEACE BOMBAY, Oct. 18. Lord Bradbourne consulted the Hindu and Moslem leaders separately, then jointly. The leaders pledged themselves to restore peace, after which Lord Bradbourne returned to Poona.
