BODY FOUND IN HARBOUR BELIEVED TO BE DUNEDIN RESIDENT (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. Oct. 16. The body of a man was found floating in Wellington Harbour in the neighbourhood of the Te; Aro baths this afternoon. It is believed to be that of William Broadbent, of Dunedin, but the body has not yet been definitely identified. The body was that of a small-built dark man, about sft 7hr in height, and with hair turning grey. It was fully dressed with a grey overcoat and suit and brown boots.' In one of the pockets were two receipts bearing the name of William Broadbent. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition and appeared to have been in the water for about three weeks. . BODY FOUND IN RIVER (Per United Press Association! INVERCARGILL, Oct. 16. The body of Isabella Beck, married., aged about 45, was recovered from the Mataura River near Lumsden this afternoon. Mrs Beck, who resided at 183 Carroll street, Dunedin, was a visitor to Athol, where she had been staying with her brother-in-law, Mr E. J. Callender, for the past two weeks. Last evening she went for a walk, and when she did not return a search was begun, ending with the finding of the body this afternoon. MOSGIEL WOMAN’S DEATH An inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of Winifred Honoria Knott, who was found hanging in her bedroom, at her residence at Mosgiel, shortly after mid-day on Thursday was held the same afternoon,. Mr •J. R. Bartholomew. S.M., sitting as coroner. Evidence was tendered that the deceased had had a nervous breakdown four months previously, but had recovered. The coroner returned a verdict that death was due to respiratory failure caused by strangulation, self-inflicted, while the deceased was in a state of ill-health.
