STRUCK BY TRAIN

CARRIER FATALLY INJURED STANDING ON LEVEL CROSSING (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 15. Struck by a goods train at, the Taupiri level crossing, George Hensen, aged 62, married, of Sandringham, Auckland, received grave injuries which proved fatal. The injured man was admitted to the Waikato Hospital, where his death occurred to-night. When the accident occurred Hensen was watching the progress of another train, and was unaware that he was standing in the track of a train approaching from the opposite direction. A carrier by trade, Hensen had been engaged to take a load of furniture to Taupiri. He was accompanied by his son, but on arrival at the township he left the motor lorry to make inquiries regarding the delivery of the furniture. Hensen's son wqs no*, present when the accident occurred. The crew of the train which struck Hensen were unaware that an accident had occurred, and the-train continued to Huntly.
