OBITUARY

MR THOMAS GLASSEY BRISBANE, Sept. 29. The death is announced of Mr Thomas Glassey, the oldest surviving member of the first Federal Parliament and the first Labour representative in the Queensland Parliament; aged 92. ADMIRAL WILLIAM SIMS BOSTON, Sept. 28. (Received Sept. 29, at 9.30 p.m.) The death has occurred of Admiral William Sims.

Admiral Sims commanded the American naval operations in European waters from 1917 until the end of the war He was placed on the retired list in 1922.
