SEVERAL RECORDS BROKEN (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. At a demonstration of weightlifting to-night J. Cooper, a featherweight, set a new New Zealand twoarm curl record of 10031 b. The previous record was 92Jlb. * Cooper established a new record for a pull over and press in a wrestler’s bridge of 164J1b. The previous record was 1401 b. With the greatest ease Cooper broke the Australian and New Zealand two-hand dead lift records of 3501 b and 3291 b respectively. He lifted 36311 b. L. Woolcott established a new New Zealand rectangular fix with a lift of 10911 b and beat the New Zealand right-arm curl record of 601 b by 6Jlb. Later Woolcott broke the New Zealand two-arm curl record, which stood at 1271 b, by lifting 1281 b. In the middle-weight class F, Kidd established a new New Zealand record for an abdominal lift of 56Jlb.
