The Rev. Y. S. Chau, Chinese missionary for New Zealand, left on his return to Auckland by the through express yesterday morning. Mr J. W. Munro, M.P., and Mr P. Neilson, M.P., were passengers by the 11.40 express yesterday morning, en route to Wellington. Mr J. T. Kelly, of Dunedin, has been re-elected patron of the Palmerston, Waikouaiti and Waihemo Scottish Society. Mr Will Appleton, of Wellington, who was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Messrs Scoullar and Chisholm, Ltd., has been on a visit to Dunedin. He left for the north by the express yesterday. Mr Rogers, managing director of British Medical Laboratories, Sydney, is at present on a business visit to Dunedin, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. He is accompanied by Mrs Rogers. Mrs D. G. M'Millan has been appointed as one of the Government representatives on the Otago High Schools’ Board. She will fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mrs M. Don, who recently left to reside in Wellington. The Union Airways liner Korimako left the Taieri airport at 8.15 yesterday morning for Christchurch, Blenheim and Palmerston North without passengers. The Kororo arrived from the north at 1 p.m. with Mr H. J. Henderson and Miss U. J Pollard from Palmerston North. Mrs Clegg from Nelson, and Mr E. A. A Thorne and Miss M. Gow from Christchurch. Reference to the death of Mr J. J. Clark was made at the annual meeting of the Otago Cricket Association last night by the president (Mr J. M. Fraser), who said that as a life member of the association Mr Clark had taken a great interest in cricket. He had been a valued member of the Albion Club and they deplored his passing. A motion of sympathy with the relatives was passed, those present, standing in silence.
