THE POLICE FORCE

FORMATION OF ASSOCIATION UNION REGISTRATION UNLIKELY fPee United Press Association) HAMILTON, June 18. It is understood from inquiries made by the Waikato Times throughout the North Island that the formation of an association for members of the Police Force is becoming an accomplished fact. It is understood that a meeting at Hamilton last night of members of the force in the Hamilton district unanimously approved of the formation of an association. It was suggested that the annual conference should be held in Wellington, with 19 delegates representing all the districts present, the executive to conduct business between conferences.

It is considered unlikely that an application will be made for registration as a union. It is more likely that the association, when formed, will obtain the legal standing of incorporation.
