AT WINGATUI
The outside of the course proper at Wingatui was open yesterday for horses engaged at the Oamaru Jockey Clubs meeting, which starts to-morrow and will be concluded on Monday, the anniversary date of Otago. Paladino received four or five lengths start from Song Boy, and the latter was ridden out to beat him at the end of halt a mile in 54sec. Paladino was not fully extended. . Salmo Salar led Golden King at the end of six furlongs on the inside grass in Imin 19sec Cherry Queen did a strong working gallop over six furlongs on tli£ course in Imin 25sec. Great Pal, who is sore, and E imu Bell galloped five furlongs in Imin lOsec. Jaunt got through useful half-pace work on the inside grass. Bine Metal worked twice round, and Costume, Redolent," Amy Johnson, Vantoon, Dodge, Last Link, and others got through useful tasks. _ Pink Del ran five furlongs on,, the inside grass in Imin llsec. Te Ahuarangi (J. Richards) was schooled over the second fence of the stand double and then went on over the jumps at the back cf the course and finished over the water jump. He had only one jump previously, and with schooling may prove useful.
